Applied Behavior Analysis
What is ABA?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a research-based approach that helps children develop essential life skills. These include communication, social interaction, self-care, play, and emotional regulation. In addition, ABA therapy uses positive reinforcement strategies to encourage age-appropriate behaviors. This approach also supports learning in a structured and supportive environment.
At Jumpstart Center, our ABA team is FTF Approach® Level 1 Certified. This reflects our commitment to modern, compassionate, and evidence-based practices. As a result, we focus on creating meaningful outcomes tailored to each child’s unique needs. Ultimately, this helps children thrive across different settings.

Expert Supervision at Jumpstart
ABA therapy at Jumpstart is overseen by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), following the standards of the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). In line with this, our Clinical Director, Dr. Adrienne Robek, holds the highest credential—BCBA-D (doctoral level)—and is the only professional in Doha, Qatar with this distinction.
ABA therapy at Jumpstart is ideal for children who:
- Have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Show delayed communication or social interaction skills
- Struggle with behavioral challenges such as aggression, self-injury, or frequent tantrums
- Have difficulty with following instructions or transitioning between activities
- Show limited play skills or have trouble engaging with peers
- Need help developing daily living skills like toileting, dressing, or mealtime routines
- Experience difficulty focusing, sitting still, or completing tasks
- Exhibit rigid routines, repetitive behaviors, or sensory difficulties
- Need structured support to prepare for school readiness or group learning environments
- Initial Screening & Goal Setting: During your consultation with Dr. Robek, she gathers detailed information about your child’s strengths and needs. After an informal screening, she recommends individualized goals to be addressed in therapy.
- Teaching Functional & Meaningful Skills: Therapists focus on building communication, social interaction, emotional flexibility, independence, and daily living skills—helping children access what they want or need safely and confidently.
- Positive, Reinforcement-Based Strategies: Evidence-based methods such as shaping, prompting, reinforcement, and modeling are used to support learning and motivation in a respectful and supportive manner.
- Play-Based & Child-Led Learning: Sessions incorporate play, preferred items, and engaging activities to encourage participation, promote enjoyment, and maintain assent throughout learning.
- Data-Driven Progress Monitoring: Therapists track progress and adjust goals based on ongoing data, ensuring interventions remain effective, personalized, and clinically sound.
- Monthly BCBA Supervision: In line with BCBA best practices, every ABA program includes monthly supervision and consultation with Dr. Robek to review progress, refine goals, and ensure ethical, high-quality practice.
- Parent Collaboration & Home Support: Families receive practical strategies to reinforce skills at home, supporting consistency and helping their child apply these skills outside of therapy.
